Katie Hardy, Claire Meints, Molly Esteve, and Molly Hayes kick off the Utah Beaver Festival by decorating beaver tails at the arts & crafts booth.
Leave it to Beavers!
Today is the big day for Utah’s first annual Beaver Festival! The Westies have been hard at work setting up and staffing for the event, where visitors of all ages can learn about the ecological (and even economic) benefits of beaver! Attractions for kids include pin the tail on the beaver and beaver tail painting. For adults, there is information on coexisting with beaver, including scale models of flow devices such as “Beaver Deceivers” that keep beaver from blocking culverts and flooding roads.
