Armed with a warm raspy tone and piercingly honest blue eyes, Bill Fales represents the sustainable rancher. Within his family’s cow camp in Aspen, Colorado, Bill articulates how, for the land, “cows are a tool. And you can use it badly or use it well.” The Fales family has made a business out of using their tools well; working with the USFS, avoiding feedlots and selling their beef locally. Bill advised us to find work that aligns with our passion, from the affection echoed in his words it was clear that he leads by example.
