Julia Lakes
The Westies met with Julia Lakes, Education and Outreach Director for the Wallowa Land Trust. Julia introduced us to the cultural, geologic, and biological significances of Wallowa Lake and its glacial moraines. She explained how the Wallowa Land Trust builds relationships with landowners interested in private lands conservation in order to achieve its goal of conserving the rural nature of Wallowa County. After graduating from Whitman in 2009 as an environmental humanities major, Julia moved directly to Wallowa County.
